My name is Tone Bone.  I am a Nigerian born mixed media visual artist based in NYC. Photography started as a recreational hobby but quickly turned into more from my very first click of my first DSLR. I got into photography as a means of tapping into my creative side and it has allowed me to see life from a different perspective. The challenges and limitations that come with the medium keeps me motivated because you must think outside of the box to turn your inner thoughts into a reality and I am person who enjoys being challenged. I got into portrait photography because I love working with others and the challenge of capturing others in a way that either depicts them in their truest form or that allows them to be somebody else is intriguing. With all my art, my goal is to draw out an emotion upon first glance. Emotions are what make us human, and if I succeed in my goal then it serves as a reminder that everyone is human even and allows anyone to relate to my art.  My favorite subjects to shoot are people of color, specifically, black women because that is what I have been surrounded by my entire life and it allows my life experience to shine through my art. My goal with photography is create unique works that allow me to change the narrative of people of color in creative spaces. Thank you for visiting my site and checking out my work!
